White Belt
The following is a sample of a basic lesson plan offered for beginner students with one to 6 months of training. The white belt student is working toward earning their yellow belt.
Each class begins with all students (even the instructor) working together to clean the dojang (school) including the mats before practice. Not only does this provide cleanliness and a safe working enviroment, it also provides team effort. This takes between 5-10 minutes.
Next, all student line up, bow in, and recite the school pledge.
Warm ups last aprox. 15 minutes and include specific exercises (1-12) that have been proven to safely warm up muscles prior to training. 15 minutes of marching follows the warm up (working on specific techniques as directed). Next, the instructor will pick one or two items from the following cirriculum to focus on for the duration of the class.
Cirriculum for white belt working toward yellow belt includes the following:
Hyung (pre-arranged movements)... I-1, I-2, I-3, L-1, L-2, and L-3
Combinations kicks basic
Combinations 1-4 (old way, no kicks), 5a, and 5b
Il Soo Sik (one steps)
Ho Sin Sul (Self Defense)

Class ends with students lining back up, 10 minutes of warm downs, and bowing out of class.
There is a lot to learn as a white belt! All of the above sets up a great foundation for the beginning student to develop focus, strength, endurance, and proper ettiquite.
Testing is offered every 6 months. Testing fees are $20 (this covers belt and certificate).
